Leona “Lee” Kirwald Varley

Leona “Lee” Kirwald Varley, 87, formerly of Baldwin and Mount Lebanon, our beloved mother and friend, passed away peacefully Wednesday at the Passavant Community Senior Living in Zelienople.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Violet Jeremias and Charles Clark; her former late husband, Charles Kirwald; her late husband, Dr. William Varley; and her sister, Dolores (Tossie) Ambler.

Left to cherish her precious memory is her daughter and best friend, Deborah Muders and her husband, James, and her nephew, Jeff Ambler and his wife, Theresa.

Lee's physical beauty could only be surpassed by her inner beauty and her loving, caring heart.

She had an exquisite flair for decorating, was a wonderful cook and a gracious hostess, who cheerfully entertained her guests with stories of happy times.

As a young woman she was a secretary for the Barre Cannon Trucking Co., but her favorite role in life was being a mother. She so perfected the art that not only her daughter, but her friends as well were recipients of her kind and generous nature. Lee will be greatly missed by many family and friends whose lives she touched and who knew and loved her.
