Properties worth more near PNC ParkPITTSBURGH — A real estate study has found that property values in the area of Pittsburgh’s PNC Park are 33.6 percent higher on average than they are for the rest of the metropolitan area.The study, conducted by the real estate website Trulia, also showed that rents are 9.8 percent higher for homes located in the vicinity of the ballpark.For Pittsburgh, the study calculated the median home value near PNC Park at $175,461. Homes in the rest of the city’s metro area came in at $131,293.The 33.6 percent difference in property values ranks sixth among all Major League Baseball cities.

Body found on bus with needle in armSTATE COLLEGE — A man has been found dead in the bathroom of a Megabus headed from Philadelphia to Pittsburgh, and the driver says he had a needle stuck in his arm.The discovery came when the bus made a stop in State College on Thursday afternoon.The driver says he opened the bathroom door and the 54-year-old Philadelphia man “fell out” with the needle in his arm. The driver says the man seemed fine when he boarded.

Teens find remains of man in woodsBRENTWOOD — Some teenagers scavenging for deer antlers instead found badly decomposed human remains in the woods of a Pittsburgh suburb.Allegheny County police and the medical examiner were called to an area near the Brentwood Public Works Building about 5:45 p.m. Thursday.The remains are said to be clothed and appear to be those of a man, though investigators must still confirm that.
