Shoplifting charges land 2 in county jail

CRANBERRY TWP — Two Pittsburgh women were arrested Wednesday after allegedly teaming up in a failed bid to shoplift $2,116 in merchandise at the Walmart on Route 19, township police said.

Both suspects — 19-year-old Shaeylyn M. Moore and 21-year-old Makita L. Miliner — face felony charges and are being held in the Butler County Prison.

Store employees told police that about 5:25 p.m. they saw the women, each with a shopping cart, putting items into bags. The defendants allegedly tried to push the carts out the store but were stopped.

District Judge Sue Haggerty arraigned Moore and Miliner on felony charges of retail theft and conspiracy. They were placed in the county prison on $5,000 bail each, following arraignment.
