Saxonburg native has 'Superior' role in 'Sister Act'
PITTSBURGH — Saxonburg native Allison Cahill has the major role of Mother Superior in the Pittsburgh Musical Theater production of the Broadway musical “Sister Act.”
Cahill says she was in her first musical with the Musical Theatre Guild in Butler. At age 10, she was in “Oliver” as one of the boys.
At Knoch High School, she had roles including Marion the Librarian in “Music Man,” Dolly in “Hello Dolly,” and the title character in “Mame.”
She is a graduate of the NYC American Academy of Dramatic Arts and works in theater, also doing commercial work and voice overs while working as a licensed massage therapist for the past 12 years.
Three other Butler County residents appear in the show as well: Jessica Ortiz of Penn Township, Brady Patsy of East Brady, and Nicole Uram of Butler.
“Sister Act” is the musical comedy based on the 1992 film.
The show runs through Saturday at the Byham Theater, 101 Sixth St. Curtain is at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
