Lois M. Griffin
Lois M. Griffin, 94, of Loxahatchee, Fla., passed away Feb. 8.
She was born June 11, 1921, in Akron, Ohio, to Lloyd and Lila Strobel. She graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School and attended Akron University.
Her husband, Albert M. Griffin Jr., preceded her in death in 1988. Before moving to Florida in 1996 to live with her son and his family, she lived in Butler, where she and her husband owned and operated several businesses including Griffin's Frozen Food Center and Locker Plant, Griffin's Heath Food Center and an International Quixtar/Amway Sales and Marketing business.
She was actively involved with the First United Methodist Church of Butler and served the church in many capacities. She was also active in many Butler County civic organizations, serving as president of Soroptomist, president of the Intermediate League and serving on the Symphony Board.
After moving to Florida, she concentrated her efforts and time to St. Peters United Methodist Church. Her passions included music, writing prose and poetry, traveling, friends and family.
She leaves her son, Gary (Marianne) of Loxahatchee, Fla.; her daughter, Gayle Gall of Cincinnati, Ohio; seven grandchildren Britt Downey (Tim), Jonathan (Robin), Nathan, Mark (Cori), Emily Reed (Phil), Brandon Gall (Ashley) and Griffin Gall (Kathryn); and 11 great-grandchildren.
GRIFFIN — A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. April 9 at St. Peters United Methodist Church.Interment will take place at the Brownwood Cemetery, North Bloomfield, Ohio.Memorial donations may be made to St. Peters United Methodist Church, Wellington, Fla.
