Allen Eugene “Al” Sheakley
Allen Eugene “Al” Sheakley, 67, of Butler passed away at 3:27 a.m. Friday at the Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.
He was born Sept. 5, 1948, in Butler, to the late Allen D. Sheakley and Betty J. (Hughes) Sheakley.
Al was a 1966 graduate of Knoch High School and graduated from Westminster College in 1974 with a bachelor of science degree.
He was a member of the Nixon United Methodist Church.
Al worked in several local businesses, most recently the Blind Association of Butler, where he worked as a driver. He also worked as an engineer at the radio station in Fairbanks, Alaska.
He enjoyed photography, the outdoors and ham radio. His call letters were “WA3CCM”.
Al is survived by his sister, Beverly Bachman and her husband, Russell, of Butler; two nephews, R. Eric Bachman and his wife, Cindy, of Pittsburgh and J. Mark Bachman and his wife, Lesley, of Butler; and his grandniece, Elise Bachman of Butler.
SHEAKLEY — There will be no visitation for Allen Eugene “Al” Sheakley, who died Friday, Feb. 19, 2016. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Nixon United Methodist Church, 334 Airport Road, Butler, with the Rev. Jim Cannistraci, pastor of the Nixon United Methodist, officiating. Private burial will take place at the Greenlawn Burial Estates.Arrangements are being handled by the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E.
