Seneca Valley’s annual Big Band Dance on Saturday benefits the school band program. The dance is 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. at the intermediate high school. Music will be by the Jim Cunningham Orchestra and the SV Jazz Ensembles. Dance instruction will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. and open ballroom dancing and swing dancing from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Admission is $8 for adults and $6 for students and senior citizens.
Slippery Rock Southern Gospel Concerts presents the McKameys of Clinton, Tenn., and Jason Reumell at 7 p.m. Friday in the Science and Technology Building at Slippery Rock University. Admission is $10; children 12 and younger are admitted free. Call 724-679-8458.
Duquesne University Tamburitzans song and dance company will perform at Concordia Haven retirement community at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Haven I Dining Room at 112 Marwood Road, Jefferson Township. The next performance in Concordia’s series will be Christian ventriloquist comedian Ryan and Friends at 1:30 p.m. April 9. The Concordia Alleluia Chorale will perform its annual Easter cantata at 7 p.m. Monday at Haven II chapel, at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Haven I dining room, and at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Haven III dining room of Concordia Lutheran Ministries, 134 Marwood Road, Jefferson Township. Admission is free. The cantata, “The Ultimate Gift,” was written and directed by Concordia Haven III resident Carol Oliver. The Chorale is made up of more than 30 participants, including Concordia residents and employees and community members. Following the cantata, refreshments will be served.
