Charles R. Miller

Charles R. Miller, 89, a resident of Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople, passed away Saturday.

Born Nov. 1, 1926, in Baden, he was the son of the late Charles and Marsella (Knorr) Miller.

Mr. Miller proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was an active member of Passavant Retirement Community and Seaman Memorial Chapel for the past 17 years.

Mr. Miller was a former member of Rehoboth Evangelical Lutheran Church in Economy Borough. He was a Boy Scout and Cub Scout leader in Economy Borough for many years, and he also had the pleasure of coaching Little League baseball. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his three loving children, James Miller and his wife, Janis, of Conway, Thomas Miller and his wife, Joann, of Chippewa Township and Cathy Cropper and her husband, Edward, of Cape Coral, Fla.; his niece, Marsella “Susie” Esseck of Zelienople; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances (Comchoc) Miller, who passed away Dec. 24, 1987; his second wife, Helen (Rape) Weil Miller, who passed away Oct. 19, 2011; and his sister, Marsella Esseck.

MILLER — The family of Charles R. Miller, who died Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016, will welcome friends from 10 a.m. until the time of a memorial service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, at Seaman Memorial Chapel at Passavant Retirement Community, 105 Burgess Drive, Zelienople, with the Rev. Marsella “Susie” Esseck officiating.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Miller's honor in support of the Passavant Retirement Community Benevolent Care Fund, 105 Burgess Drive, Zelienople, PA 16063.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the Miller family at www.boylanfuneralservices.com.
