Helen Elizabeth Winters

Helen Elizabeth Winters, 96, of Butler passed away at 5:18 a.m. Wednesday at the Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot.

She was born March 24, 1919, in Kittanning to the late Herbert Curtis Bish and Ivy Pearl (Bowser) Bish.

Helen was a homemaker and in her earlier years she had worked at the Spaide Shirt Factory.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Berean Sunday School class.

She is survived by one son, Thomas E. Winters and his wife, Vickie, of Butler; two daughters, Shirley M. Winters of Butler and Gloria J. Zediker of Butler: six grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Hazel Coleman of Orchard Park, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold C. Winters, who she married March 29, 1940, and who passed away on Jan. 15, 1976; her son, Robert Winters; two brothers; and two sisters.

WINTERS — Friends of Helen Elizabeth Winters, who died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. David Maitland, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating.Burial will take place at the Greenlawn Burial Estates.Online condolences can be given at www.thompson-miller.com.
