High school exhibit opens next week
The Butler Art Center's annual High School Art Show opens Wednesday and runs through March 26.
This exhibit is for students in grades seven to 12.
The show will be judged by students from the Slippery Rock University art department and the SRU Art Society.
The organizations are sponsoring the Slippery Rock University Art Society Merit Awards for the show. The groups will be donating $200 to be split into four $50 cash prizes designated for distinguished artist participants as judged in the high school show.
A reception will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. March 18. Refreshments will be served, and musical entertainment will be provided by the Harmony Hot Haus Band.
