KC grad Yough wins for GannonKarns City graduate Matt Yough improved to 2-0 as freshman pitcher at Gannon University recently,tossing five innings in relief.Yough allowed one run on six hits, striking out three to pick up a 12-5 win over Findlay (Ohio).The victory was the seventh straight for Gannon (8-3).

Cranberry’s Wise earns all-academicPITTSBURGH — Cranberry Township resident and Pitt freshman women’s basketball player Brenna Wise has been named to the ACC All-Academic team this season.Wise is a business major. Minimum academic requirements for ACC All-Academic selection is a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.Wise was named to the ACC All-Freshman team earlier, led Pitt in scoring and rebounding this season and scored a career-high 25 points in an ACC Tournament win over North Carolina.

SRU’s Carpenter All-PSAC WestSLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University women’s basketball junior guard Lexi Carpenter has been named first team All-PSAC West.Carpenter averaged 17.5 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game this season. She shot 88.2 percent from the foul line.SRU finished 13-15 this season, its most wins in a season since 2005-06.
