Knoch senior earns rank of Eagle Scout
Stephen Anthony, 18, of Troop 58 of the Moraine Trails Council earned his Eagle Scout badge and will be awarded the rank of Eagle Scout March 13 at a court of honor ceremony.
He is the son of Deborah Kutsch of Saxonburg and Ray Anthony of Fawn Township.
Anthony spent nearly 18 months planning, designing and overseeing the construction of a granite memorial in Roebling Park.
“It was a long road, full of twists and turns, but I was passionate about the project and determined to see it through,” Anthony said. “I could have never done it without the help and cooperation of many people in our community.”
Anthony has earned 29 badges through scouting and has regularly attended summer camps throughout the area.
He also spent 10 days in Boundary Waters of northern Minnesota while participating in a wilderness canoe trip with the Northern Tier Adventure Program.
Anthony is a senior at Knoch High School. He plans to attend Butler County Community College, hoping to transfer to Slippery Rock to study parks and resource management.
