Grove City CollegeThe theater program will present two plays Wednesday through March 5 in Ketler Auditorium of the Pew Fine Arts Center.“The Diviners” tells the story of a disturbed teenage boy who is afraid of water but has a gift for finding underground aquifers and his friendship with a faithless preacher in the fictional town of Zion, Ind., during the Great Depression. The play will be staged at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and March 4 and at 5:30 p.m. March 3 and 5.“The Women of Lockerbie” by Deborah Breevort tells the story of Bill and Madeline, parents who go to Lockerbie, Scotland, to look for the remains of their son who perished on Pan Am Flight 103. The play follows the survivors of the crash and how they cope with the tragedy. This play will be staged at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday and March 4 and at 8:30 p.m. March 3 and 5.Doors open 30 minutes before each performance. Westminster CollegeThe college’s symphony orchestra hosts a winter concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Orr Auditorium. Admission is free. Along with student and community performers, the concert will feature Nancy DeSalvo, associate professor of music, on piano, and Timothy Winfield, assistant professor of music, on trumpet.The Celebrity Series for Kids presents “Room on the Broom” at 6:30 p.m. March 3 in Orr Auditorium.Produced by Tall Stories Theater Company, the musical stage adaptation of the best-selling book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler takes audiences on the adventures of a witch, her cat, a dragon, and a few friendly animals.The show features puppetry and sing-along songs.
