Rosa M. McCloskey

Rosa M. McCloskey, 72, of Butler, formerly of Chicora, died early Monday at Butler Memorial Hospital following a short illness.

She was born Dec. 15, 1943, in Kittanning to the late Joseph Knoll and Grace McMillen Knoll.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Valencia and the Women of the Moose. She was a seamstress at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She enjoyed reading, baking, sewing and doing puzzles.

She is survived by her sisters, Glenna Martin Williams and her husband, John, of Chicora, Gladys Jones of Chicora, Karen Knoll of Ravenna, Ohio, and Janet Proudfoot and her husband, Bob, of Streetsboro, Ohio; her brothers, Howard H. Knoll of Lower Burrell and Jon Knoll and his wife, Patty, of Chicora; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Albert Knoll; one great nephew; and her longtime companion, Rick Tremmel, who died in 1999.

MCCLOSKEY — Friends of Rosa M. McCloskey, who died Monday, Jan. 18, 2016, will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the STEIGHNER FUNERAL HOME, corner of Main and East Slippery Rock streets, Chicora, during which at 7 p.m. the Women of the Moose services will take place.Additional visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with her nephew, the Rev. Robert Martin, pastor of the United Methodist Church in Valencia, officiating.Interment will be at the Greenlawn Burial Estates, 731 W.
