PITTSBURGH — “National Parks Adventure” is newly opened in the Carnegie Science Center's Rangos Omnimax Theater.

The film commemorates the U.S. National Park Service's 100-year anniversary.

Filmed in more than 30 national parks, it follows mountaineer Conrad Anker, adventure photographer Max Lowe, and artist Rachel Pohl as they hike, climb and explore.

Director, Greg MacGillivray, said, “There are 408 national parks in our country that many families have not been able to explore. Our hope is that 'National Parks Adventure' will encourage our audiences to discover the beauty and sanctuary of these American treasures.”

The film is narrated Robert Redford and runs 43 minutes long.

Other films showing in the Omnimax Theater are “D-Day: Normandy 1944,” “Animalopolis” and “ROBOTS.” The throwback film for February is “Beavers.”Admission for individual Omnimax films only is $8.95. Discounts are available in combination with general or other admission. For more information and show times, visit CarnegieScienceCenter.org.
