Leonard J. Baranowski

Leonard J. Baranowski, 85, of Butler passed away Saturday at VNA Inpatient Hospice.

Born Nov. 5, 1930, in Natrona Heights, he was the son of the late John and Catherine C. Glogowski Baranowski.

He was a retired truck driver for Mashuda Construction, where he was employed for 20 years. He also worked as a truck driver for the Coca Cola Co. for 15 years.

A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during the Korean War.

He was a member of Saint Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church and the Teamsters union.

He is survived by one daughter, Mary Betts and her husband, Ken, of Butler; three adored grandchildren, Becki Skibinski and her husband, Michael, of Grove City, Steven Green and his wife, Michelle, of Butler and Nicky Steighner and her husband, Kris, of Butler; and six beloved great-grandchildren, Alyssa Wick, Madi Wick, Steven Green, Krislyn Green, Sebastian Steighner and Kameron Steighner.

In addition, he is survived by his sisters-in-law, Carole Grence and Helen Grence; and a number of nieces and nephews, who were also dear to him.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine E. “Kay” Grence Baranowski, who passed away Oct. 26, 2015; and two sisters, Dorothy Wisneiwski and Helen Levandowski.

BARANOWSKI — Friends of Leonard J. Baranowski, who died Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016, will be received from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Martin Funeral Home, 429 Center Ave., Butler. A blessing service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by the VFW Post 249 of Butler, the American Legion Post 778 of Lyndora and the American Legion Post 117 of Butler.Burial will take place at the Saint Michael's Cemetery.For more information, please visit www.martinfh.net.
