Howard E. Watterson

Howard E. Watterson, 79, of Butler passed away Saturday at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born July 21, 1936, in Butler to the late Roy Watterson and Florence (Moon) Watterson.

Howard was a member of the Butler First Church of the Nazarene and the Butler Hunting and Fishing Club.

He had worked at Castle Rubber for several years and retired from Penn Champ after 20 years as a machine operator.

Howard enjoyed archery hunting, indoor archery target shooting and working on cars.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lois (Bickel) Watterson, who he married Feb. 5, 1955; one son, Chad E. Watterson and his wife, Missy, of Fenelton; two daughters, Connie R. Rycroft of Butler and Celena Butchko and her husband, Dan, of Slippery Rock; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three brothers, Leroy Watterson and his wife, Arlene, of Butler, Donald Watterson and his wife, Rosalind, of Chicora and Harold Watterson and his wife, Rita, of Karns City; five sisters, Nellie Taylor of Portersville, Debby Chura and her husband, Jerry, of Renfrew, Betty Saul and her husband, Ray, of Butler, Harriet Iman and her husband, Arthur, of Meridian and Wanda Bobbert of Herman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Corwin H. Watterson.

WATTERSON — Friends of Howard E. Watterson, who died Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Butler First Church of the Nazarene, 4410 Oakdale Road, Butler, PA 16001.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Butler First Church of the Nazarene, 4410 Oakdale Road, Butler, PA 16001 with the Rev. Leon Blaise of the Butler First Church of the Nazarene officiating.Private burial will take place in the Gruenwald Cemetery.The Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, Butler, assisted with the arrangements.Online condolences can be given at www.thompson-miller.com.
