Donald E. Marburger Jr.
Donald E. Marburger Jr., 73, of Butler, formerly of Evans City, passed away Wednesday at VA Butler Healthcare.
Born Dec. 2, 1942, in Connoquenessing, he was the son of the late Donald E. Sr. and Elanora (Measel) Marburger.
Donald attended Evans City High School and proudly served our country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Evans City VFW and the American Legion, and he most recently worked as a custodian at the Mars School District.
In his free time, he was a car enthusiast and enjoyed watching sports, especially the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his companion, Jeanie Barkley of Butler; his three sons, James (Maria) Marburger, Bruce Marburger and Gregory Marburger, all of Connoquenessing; his daughter, Pam (Allen) Zarnick of Eau Claire; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and four siblings, Shirley Kretzler of Evans City, Larry (Sandy) Marburger of Florida, Colleen (Jerry) Wiemann of Renfrew and Sandy Covert and her fiance, Rob Morrill of Evans City.
MARBURGER — Friends of Donald E. Marburger, who died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2016, will be received from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at the Boylan Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.A funeral ceremony will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gary Brown officiating.He will be laid to rest with military honors at St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Connoquenessing.In lieu of flowers, Donald's family suggests that memorial donations be made in his honor to the Hospice at VA Butler Healthcare, 325 New Castle St., Butler, PA 16001.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with Donald's family at www.boylanfuneralservices.com.
