Teen receives 35 years to life for fatal shooting
KITTANNING — A teen has been sentenced to serve 35 years to life in prison for the slaying of an 18-year-old man in February 2015.
Todd Johnson was sentenced Tuesday in Armstrong County after being found guilty of second-degree homicide and robbery charges in December.
Prosecutors say Johnson fatally shot Derrike Roppolo last February while attempting to steal marijuana from an apartment on Basin Street in Leechburg.
Johnson was 17 at the time of the shooting but was tried as an adult. He was acquitted of aggravated assault charges in connection with the incident at his trial.
