Knoch's Geist hits 71 feet in shot putEDINBORO — Knoch junior Jordan Geist tossed the shot put 71 feet, 2.5 inches at a Tri-State Coaches Association indoor meet Saturday at Edinboro University.Geist's toss is fifth-best all-time nationally. He became the third Pennsylvania high school athlete to ever eclipse 70 feet, joining Balldwin's Ron Semkiw (1972) and Central Dauphin's Ryan Whiting (2005).The latter two hit 70 feet in outdoor meets.
Pens, Caps game scheduled March 1NEW YORK — The NHL has rescheduled three games that were postponed because of the recent snowstorm on the East Coast.The Pittsburgh at Washington game will take place March 1.The other two games — Anaheim at Washington and Philadelphia at the New York Islanders — have been reset for April 10 to end the regular season.
