Mary C. Albert

Mary C. Albert, 95, of Butler passed away Monday at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born Aug. 15, 1920, in Hilliards, she was a daughter of the late Dominick and Frances Chiricosta Nocera.

She was a homemaker, and during World War II Mary was employed at the Shell Shop at Pullman Standard. She also formerly served as the tax assessor in Franklin Township for 20 years.

She was a member of Saint Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, the 55 & Alive of St. Michael's and the Women's Club of Prospect.

She was an avid card and bingo player, and she was also known as a great pie baker.

She is survived by two sons, William R. Albert and his wife, Lynn, of Butler, and Robert D. Albert and his wife, Debbie, of Butler; two daughters, Sarah Chuzie and her husband, Thomas, of Girard, Pa., and Brenda Chapman and her husband, Jeffery, of Skaneateles, N.Y.; one brother, Leonard Nocera of Butler; one sister, Rita Savannah of Butler; and one sister-in-law, Sarah Woessner of Butler.

She is also survived by nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William D. Albert, who passed away June 10, 1981; three brothers, Jesse “Turk” Nocera, Bruno Nocera and Pasquale Nocera; and one sister, Concetta Nocera.

ALBERT — Friends of Mary C. Albert, who died Monday, Dec. 28, 2015, will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Martin Funeral Home, 429 Center Ave., Butler.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at Saint Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 432 Center Ave., Butler.Burial will take place at the Greenlawn Burial Estates.The bereavement group of St. Michael the Archangel Parish will meet at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home to conduct a scriptural wake service.For more information, please visit www.martinfh.net.
