Maryellen “Nish” (Witzigman) Faber

Maryellen “Nish” (Witzigman) Faber, 85, of Marienville, Pa., passed away peacefully Wednesday at the home of her son.

She was born June 19, 1930, in Sharon, Pa., to the late Martin and Gertrude (Klinges) Witzigman.

She worked in various nursing homes in Sharon and Gibsonia and eventually became the nurse's aide supervisor at the Snyder Memorial Nursing Home in Marienville.

She also previously managed the Wade D. Mertz Towers in Sharpsville, Pa.

Nish lived in Marienville for the past 30 years and was happiest when she was at home in the “woods” and working outside.

She was a proud Roman Catholic and loved her little church, St. Dominic's in Sigel, Pa.

Nish loved to crochet, making dolls, rugs, and blankets for everyone. In recent years, she spent her summers preparing for and managing the church flea market.

She is survived by one daughter, Cynthia Adkins of Sharpsville, Pa.; four sons, George Faber of Butler, Terry (JoAnn) Faber of Butler, Greg (Kim) Gibbs of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Martin (Debbie) Gibbs of Cincinnati; three stepsons, David, Tom and Bob McCracken; two brothers, Charles Witzigman of Missouri and James (Barb) Witzigman of Tennessee; 15 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four sisters; three brothers; one stepson; and her husbands, George Faber, Howard Gibbs and Richard McCracken.

FABER — Per request of Maryellen “Nish” (Witzigman) Faber, who died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015, there will be no visitation. A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Sacred Heart Church in Sharon, Pa., with the Rev.
