Old Hulton Bridge implosion slatedOAKMONT — Workers prepared to implode the old Hulton Bridge over the Allegheny River.The implosion of the 107-year-old span that connects the Pittsburgh suburbs of Oakmont and Harmar was scheduled to take place at 10 a.m. today.Safety zones will stop traffic on the new bridge and within 1,000 feet of the old span.The bridge is named for Jonathon Hulton, whose family operated a ferry across the river.

Snow causes roof at zoo to collapseNORRISTOWN — Officials say snow caused a zoo’s roof to collapse in eastern Pennsylvania.Workers arrived Sunday morning at Norristown’s Elmwood Park Zoo to find snow had caused the steel mesh roof to collapse on the Birds of Paradise exhibit.
