Doris S. McKissick, 93, of Clarion passed away Tuesday at the Golden Living Center in Clarion. She was anticipating her 94th birthday early next year.

Born Jan. 13, 1922, in Fairview Township, she was the only child of the late William and Olga (Minteer) Snyder. In 1940, she graduated from Fairview Township/Karns City High School and then in 1942 graduated from Butler Business College.

Doris was married to William A. McKissick on Nov. 15, 1943, in Nashville, Tenn. They were married for 66 years, before he preceded her in death in 2010. She was a homemaker for most of her life.

Doris was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Clarion, the Clarion Women's Club, the United Methodist Women, the United Methodist Chancel Choir, the Clarion Community Choir, the Clarion County Garden Club, the Retired Senior Volunteer Program and the Clarion Hospital Volunteers.

She is survived by her son, Ronald McKissick and his wife, Barbara, of Butler; her daughter, Mary Brooks, of Clarion; her four grandchildren, Douglas (Lori) McKissick of Monaca, Aaron (Kelli) McKissick of Glenshaw, Ian McKissick of Butler and Taylor McKissick of Mesa, Ariz.

She is also survived by her five great-grandchildren, Paige, Carter, Collin, Lydia and Molly McKissick.

MCKISSICK — Visitation for Doris S. McKissick, who died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2015, will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, 330 Wood St., Clarion.An additional visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the gathering area of the First United Methodist Church, 600 Wood St., Clarion. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Kevin R. Haley officiating.
