Nora Jean Marks

Nora Jean Marks, 54, of Harmony passed away Friday after a courageous battle with cancer at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Born Aug. 11, 1961, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late William B. and Nora Ann (Stanton) Hirt.

Nora was a faithful member of St. Christopher at the Lake Catholic Church. She worked as a customer service representative at William Ridge Insurance.

Nora was very proud of her Irish heritage and was a member of the Daughters of Erin. She loved her children dearly and always attended their sporting events.

In her free time, she enjoyed going to the casinos. Nora always put others before herself and had a great sense of humor that brought smiles and laughter to her family and friends. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her beloved husband of 23 years, John A. Marks, who she married Aug. 1, 1992; her two children, Jordan and Johnny Marks of Harmony; her sister, Karen (Stewart) Lattanzio of Baden; her brothers, Ron Hirt and William (Carol) Hirt, both of the North Hills; her mother-in-law, Patricia Marks; her brother-in-law, Dale (Laura) Marks; her sister-in-law, Faith (Bill) Depoppe; her nieces and nephews, Amy Hirt, Megan Lattanzio, Kara Lattanzio, Michael Hirt, Matthew Hirt, Kirsten Hirt, Madeline Marks, William Hirt and Kassandra Depoppe; and her dog, Murphy.

MARKS — The family of Nora Jean Marks, who died Friday, Dec. 18, 2015, will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today and from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Christopher at the Lake Catholic Church, 229 N.
