Abby J. Domhoff

Abby J. Domhoff, 84, of Harmony passed away Saturday surrounded by her loving family at Cranberry Place.

Born Nov. 13, 1931, in Tharyton, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Claude M. and Mary E. (Nolf) Buffington.

Abby was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Middle Lancaster Township. She was a homemaker and belonged to Thrivent, formerly known as the American Lutheran Association (A.A.L.). She was also a former member of both the Zionettes and the Eagles of Zelienople.

Above all, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved husband of 65 years, Oscar P. Domhoff, who she married Jan. 25, 1950; her daughter, Cindy (Joseph) L. Benoit of Evans City; her sons, Douglas P. (Larri Jo) Domhoff, Gordon D. (Kim) Domhoff and Bryan L. (Pam) Domhoff, all of Harmony; her sisters, Ruth Evans of Zelienople and Dolores La Sota of Knox, Pa.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents, Abby was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters.

DOMHOFF — The family of Abby J. Domhoff, who died Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015, will welcome friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Boylan Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home, 219 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.Additional visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Zion Lutheran Church, 557 Perry Highway, Harmony, with the Rev. Barbara Love officiating.Abby will be laid to rest at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery.If desired, memorial donations may be made in her honor to the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205, to the Zion Lutheran Church, 557 Perry Highway, Harmony, PA 16037, or to the National Kidney Foundation, 3109 Forbes Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15213.The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the people at Cranberry Place, Harmony EMS and Family Hospice for the love and care given to Abby.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.boylanfuneralservices.com.
