Edgar C. “Ed” Davis

Edgar C. “Ed” Davis, 86, of Renfrew passed away Sunday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.

He was born Sept. 29, 1929, in Flinton, Pa., to the late Calvin R. Davis and Gladys (Youngkin) Davis.

Ed was a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served as a corporal with the paratroopers during the Korean War.

He worked for the Armstrong Group of Companies, retiring Dec. 31, 2006, with 53 years of service. Ed was an avid golfer.

Mr. Davis is survived by his beloved partner of over 39 years, Peggy “Peg” A. Herr of Renfrew and her son, Jeffrey (Kimberly) Masciantonio and their two children, Kristina and Nicholas of Oxford, Pa.; his daughter, Linda Davis (William) Maes and their children, Brandon “Pixie” Kimberli and Ryan of Rising Sun, Md.; his son, Dean (Kathi) Davis and their children, Brad (Cody) Davis, Angie Wagner and Andrew (Ashley) Davis of Rising Sun, Md.; and five great-grandchildren, Addyson and Ayden Davis and Nicholas, Katie and Julie Wagner of Rising Sun, Md.

He also is survived by the mother of Dean and Linda, Betty Davis of Rising Sun, Md.; his brothers and sisters, Joanne (Andy) Hudak, Sherwood (Katherine) Davis, Don Davis, Lucille (Irvin) Smith, Dale (Judy) Davis, Bill (Kathy) Davis, Roy (Cora) Davis, Gloria Jean Davis and Sharon (Joseph) Hattenbach.

DAVIS — There will be no public visitation for Edgar C. “Ed” Davis, who died Sunday, Dec. 13, 2015. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Jan. 2 at the Community Alliance Church, 800 Mercer Road, Butler.Arrangements are being handled by the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E.
