Mary A. Logut Rozic
Mary A. Logut Rozic of Stirling Village died Sunday.
Born Feb. 28, 1919, in North Washington, she was the daughter of Anthony Logut and Katherine Senick Logut.
Mary was a member of the Saint Fidelis Parish and the Catholic Daughters of America. She participated in the Catholic Daughters project of sending rosaries to missions all over the world. She made over 70,000 rosaries before she was forced to retire because of poor eyesight.
Mary was a lifetime member of the First Catholic Slovak Union. Mary was a homemaker and enjoyed her many crafts and gardening until retiring to live at Lowrie House in 2010. She found a good friend in Marie McGuire, a resident, and many other nice people who cared for her.
Surviving are two sons, Joseph Rozic (Sharon) of Colorado and Bernhard Rozic of Butler; one daughter, Mrs. David (Eleanor) Benson of Butler; two sisters, Katherine Tiche and Helen Sankey of West Sunbury; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Joseph H. Rozic, who she married Oct. 8, 1938, died Aug. 29, 1999. Also, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Marlene Rozic Swall; one brother, Joseph Logut; one sister, Anne Ganger; and one grandson, David Benson Jr.
ROZIC — Friends of Mary A. Logut Rozic, who died Sunday, Dec. 13, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup Road, Meridian.
