Oliver F. Cashdollar Jr.

Oliver F. Cashdollar Jr., 89, of Zelienople, formerly of Evans City, passed away Wednesday.

Born May 22, 1926, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Oliver F. and Christine (Besnecker) Cashdollar.

Oliver proudly served his country during World War II in the 78th Infantry Division in Europe. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Grove City College and his master's degree in education from the University of Pittsburgh.

He formerly worked as a principal at his alma mater, Evans City High School, in addition to teaching science. He retired as the assistant superintendent of the Seneca Valley School District in 1982.

He was a faithful member of the Old Union Presbyterian Church.

He belonged to the Evans City Rotary Club for 53 years, as well as the Harmony Masonic Lodge 429. He also was a member of the American Legion, the Syria Shrine Arab Patrol and A.A.O.N.M.S. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.

He was the beloved husband of Geraldine W. (Walker) Cashdollar, who he married May 29, 1948; the father of David O. (Kathleen) Cashdollar of Grove City, the late Gerald Cashdollar and John R. (Barbara) Cashdollar of Evans City; the grandfather of Madeline (Jeff) Cashdollar Gregory of Florence, S.C., Timothy (Maria) Cashdollar of Mars, Rachel Cashdollar of Mulberry, Fla., and Daniel Cashdollar of Evans City; and the great-grandfather of Michael Gregory, Elena Gregory, Andrew Cashdollar and Alexis Cashdollar.

In addition to his parents and his son, Oliver was preceded in death by three sisters, Barbara M. Beahm, Elizabeth Farr and Ruth Post.

CASHDOLLAR — The family of Oliver F. Cashdollar Jr., who died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015, will welcome friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Boylan Funeral Home, 116 E. Main St., Evans City.A funeral ceremony will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars.Oliver will be laid to rest at the Old Union Presbyterian Church Cemetery.If desired, memorial donations may be made in his honor to the Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars, PA 16046.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.boylanfuneralservices.com.
