Lawrence Eugene Stokes Jr., 80, of Cleburne, Texas, passed away Thursday.

Mr. Stokes was born Dec. 29, 1934, in Harrisville, the son of Louis (Grossman) and Lawrence Eugene Stokes.

He was retired from the military, having served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Mr. Stokes is survived by his son, William L. Stokes and his wife, Chris, of Kopperl, Texas; and five sisters.
