Bessie L. Lewis Griffith, 90, of Butler passed away Monday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born in Indiana County, she was the daughter of the late Edward P. and Sarah Kirpatrick Lewis. She was a Methodist.

Bessie enjoyed playing bingo, and she was a loving mother and homemaker.

Bessie was preceded in death by her husband, Edward P. Griffith, on March 29, 2001; one son, Thomas, and a sister.

She is survived by two daughters, Sarah Griffith of Butler and Mildred (Richard) Cox of Renfrew; two sons, Robert (Roberta) Griffith of Evans City and Larry A. Griffith of Harrisville; two sisters, Mildred Powers of Rural Valley and Margaret Smyers of New York; seven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.

GRIFFITH — Friends of Bessie L. Lewis Griffith who died Monday, Dec. 7, 2015 will be received from 1 to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the A. Carl Kinsey-Ronald N. Volz Funeral Home, 328 W.
