Vera L. Mahood Sherman
Vera L. Mahood Sherman, 80, of Parker Township, Petrolia, formerly of Parker, passed away at 3 a.m. Saturday at the residence of her daughter with whom she made her home.
Born in Karns City on March 12, 1935, she was daughter of the late John and Charlotte Bullman Mahood.
She was a graduate of Grove City High School, and she had been employed by the former Glass Containers Corp. of Parker for a number of years.
A Protestant, she was a member of the Harvest Community Church of Fairview at the time of her passing.
Vera was married to the late Richard S. Sherman on July 3, 1954, and he passed away Nov. 9, 2008.
Surviving are three daughters, Lezlie (Terry) Kriebel of Petrolia with whom she made her home, Jacqueline (Jeff) Wilson of Big Bend (Emlenton) and Kimberly (Mark) Harned of Emlenton; one son, Richard S. (Andrea Davis) Sherman II of Parker; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; four siblings, Connie (David) Unetich of Independence, Pa., James (Cindy) Mahood of Rhode Island, Chris (Phyllis) Mahood of Titusville and Tom (Kim) Mahood of Polk; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one great-grandchild, Christopher Gabriel Prokay; and one brother, John (Jack) Mahood.
SHERMAN — Friends of Vera L. Mahood Sherman, who died Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015, may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home, 201 S. Wayne Ave., Parker, where funeral services will be at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday officiated by the Rev.
