Seven Fields ice rink needs colder weather
SEVEN FIELDS — The borough’s outdoor ice rink is not yet in use because of recent unseasonably warm weather.
There must be eight to 12 days of below-freezing temperatures to get the rink properly frozen and ready to use, borough manager Tom Smith said.
Smith said he could not predict when, or if, the weather would allow for the rink to open.
The rink is in Seven Fields Town Park on Castle Creek Drive. Last year it was in use from sunrise to 10 p.m. with no cost.
Though the region was hit with a cold-spell early this week, the National Weather Service forecasts a high temperature of 36 degrees today and 42 degrees Thursday.
