Butler County Bowling Association members Bud Holben and Rich Morrill placed at the recent Pennsylvania State Bowling Association Seniors Tournament.
Holben tied for eighth in the age 75-over handicapped division with a 719 series. Morrill was 12th in the age 50-54 handicapped division with a 722.
[naviga:h3]BCBA bowlers net perfect games[/naviga:h3]
Three Butler County Bowling Association bowlers turned in 300-games earlier this month.
James Hiles and Steve Wyrich rolled perfect games in the Wednesday Classic league while Dan Christenson did so in the Bon Aire Monday Nighters.

BAJA, Mexico — Grove City College senior wide receiver Josh Peach was named game MVP as Team Stars and Stripes' 15-14 football victory over the CONADIEP Mexican all-star team Saturday at the seventh annual Tazon de Estrellas (Bowl of the Stars).
Peach caught seven passes for 114 yards and a touchdown. GCC linebackers Bobby Tuttle and Brandon Berringer had four and threee tackles, respectively.
GCC guard Alex Jewell also played in the game.
<3>SRU football team closes at No. 7[/naviga:h3]
SLIPPERY ROCK — The Slippery Rock University football team closed the season ranked No. 7 nationally by the American Football Coaches Association.
This marks SRU's highest national ranking since the 1999 Rock team was at No. 2 on the final regular season poll.
SRU finished the 2015 season with a 12-2 record, matching the 1998 team for best record in program history.

PITTSBURGH — The Pirates added Kyle Lobstein to the mix of starting pitchers looking for a rotation spot next season, acquiring the left-hander from the Detroit Tigers on Monday for cash.
Detroit designated the 26-year-old for assignment on Dec. 18. Lobstein went 3-8 with a 5.94 ERA for the Tigers in 2015, starting 11 games and relieving in two. He is 4-10 with a 5.33 ERA in 20 big league appearances with Detroit.

ZURICH — Sepp Blatter and Michel Platini were each banned for eight years by the FIFA ethics committee in a stunning removal of world soccer’s most powerful leaders.
FIFA President Blatter and his one-time protege Platini were kicked out of the sport for conflict of interest and disloyalty to FIFA in a $2 million payment deal that is also the subject of a criminal investigation in Switzerland.
