Violet M. Hancock

Violet M. Hancock, 96, of Butler passed away Sunday at Concordia at the Orchard.

She was born Oct. 18, 1919, in Pine Township, Armstrong County, the daughter of the late Joseph Carl White and Lillian (Reedy) White.

Violet had been a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, doing crafts and traveling.

Surviving are her son, James H. and his wife, Judy Hancock, of Butler; her grandson, James (April) Hancock and their children, James, William Mac, Faith, Owen, Levi and Benjamin Hancock, all of Brunswick, Ohio; her granddaughter, Jodi (Joshua) Teets and their children, Colt and Morgan, all of Slippery Rock; her daughter-in-law, Janet Hancock of Butler; her grandson, Robert (Sharon) Hancock and their children, Emma, Alex, Lily, Julia, Kayla and Violet, all of Corning, N.Y; her granddaughter, Kimberly Miller and her children, Ryanne and Matthew, all of Butler; her grandson, John (Kendra) Hancock and their child, Lukas, of Kittanning; and her sister, Mrs. Bernard (Charlotte) Dill of Kittanning.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James H. Hancock; her son, Robert R. Hancock; and two sisters.

HANCOCK — Friends of Violet M. Hancock, who died Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler.Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dave Fisher, pastor, of Homeacre Chapel officiating.
