Cynthia J. “Cindy” Socash, 56, of Freedom, New Sewickley Township, died Sunday afternoon at UPMC Montefiore Hospital.

Born July 1, 1959, in Greenfield, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Winthrop and Claire Cummings.

Cindy had been in sales for AT&T and several other companies.

She was a member of St. Ferdinand's Roman Catholic Church in Cranberry Township, but above all she was a devoted wife and mother.

Surviving are her husband, Phillip J. Socash, who she married May 18, 1991; her daughter, Melanie Socash of Freedom; her son, Samuel Socash of Freedom; two sisters, Jacqueline Foley (Jack) of Westfield, Mass., and Cheryl Cummings of Boston, Mass.; and many nieces and nephews.

SOCASH — Friends of Cynthia J. “Cindy” Socash, who died Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Ferdinand's R.C. Church, 2535 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township, with the Rev. John Gallagher, pastor, officiating. Please meet at the church.
