William “Toot” Meals

William “Toot” Meals, 72, of Butler passed away Wednesday at Allegheny General Hospital.

Toot was born June 26, 1943, in Claytonia, Pa., to the late William E. Meals Sr. and the late Clara C. Hoover Meals.

Toot served in the U.S. Navy in the Sea Bees in Vietnam.

He was a faithful member of the West Sunbury Church of the Nazarene and a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 243 of West Sunbury.

He was a retired truck driver and most recently drove for Hunter's Truck Sales.

Toot was a very loving and generous man, who loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and friends. He also enjoyed watching sports and debating politics.

Toot is survived by his two daughters, Kathy Jo Prichard and Debra Martino, both of Butler; his son, David James Meals of Butler; three grandchildren, Amanda Martino, Amber Nicole Prichard and Austin Meals; and three great grandchildren.

Also surviving are three sisters, Kathy Hogue of Ellwood City, Bea Martin of Slippery Rock and Bridgett (Mark) Miller of Kentucky, and two brothers, Sam Meals of Ohio and David (Melinda) Meals of Grove City.

Toot was preceded in death by one son, William Scott Meals; one grandson, William Kash Meals; and one granddaughter, Heather Martino.

MEALS — The family of William “Toot” Meals, who died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2015, will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury.Visitation will also be at from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Monday at the West Sunbury Church of the Nazarene. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. at the church with the Rev.
