Mary Ellen Gomori

Mary Ellen Gomori, 81, of Butler passed away Wednesday at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Butler.

Born Sept. 8, 1934, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Louis J. and Mary (Lauer) Dougan.

She was employed in the central sterile department at Butler Memorial Hospital. She retired in 1999, following 25 years service.

She was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler and the Catholic Daughter's of America. She was an avid Pirates fan, and she enjoyed playing bingo, cards, bowling and spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are two daughters, Donna (Richard) Fredley and Joanna (Randy) Smith, both of Butler; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Gomori, who passed away July 27, 2015.

GOMORI — Friends of Mary Ellen Gomori, who died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Butler.St. Paul Catholic Women and Christian Mothers will meet at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the church to recite the rosary.
