Laura D. 'Dorothy' (Nulton) Blum

Laura D. “Dorothy” (Nulton) Blum, 98, of Zelienople passed away Sunday while in the comfort of her home.

Born Oct. 19, 1917, in Wilkinsburg, she was the daughter of the late Clarence A. and Dorothea (Klein) Nulton.

Dorothy was a longtime faithful member of the English Lutheran Church, where she was involved with the Sunshine Ladies, the Loyal Class and the Gleaners and Friends in Christ.

She was also a member of the Keenagers, the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 485 and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 474 in Zelienople.

During her free time, she enjoyed volunteering at Passavant Hospital and the Zelienople Historical Society. But above all, Dorothy cherished the time spent with her grandchildren.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughter, Beth Ann Eppinger and her husband, Jack; her sister, Sandra Bickle and her husband, Terry; her six grandchildren, Laurie, Brent, Jenny, John, Matt and Phil; multiple great-grandchildren; and two nieces and one nephew.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Philip M. Blum, who she married Sept. 27, 1945, and her son, John A. Blum.

BLUM — The family of Laura D. “Dorothy” (Nulton) Blum, who died Sunday, Nov. 8, 2015, will welcome friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 219 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.A funeral ceremony will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at the English Lutheran Church, 200 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, with the Rev. Beverly Banyay officiating. Everyone is asked to please meet at the church.She will be laid to rest privately at the English Lutheran Church Cemetery in Zelienople.If desired, memorial contributions may be made in her honor in support of the English Lutheran Church or the Salvation Army, 313 W.
