John A. Spinelli

John A. “Jack” Spinelli, 85, of Zelienople passed away Thursday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.

Born Feb. 14, 1930, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Anthony James and Mary Catherine (Lowe) Spinelli.

Jack was a faithful member of St. Peter's Reformed Church.

He belonged to the Harmony Moose Lodge and the American Legion.

Jack began working as a car knocker for B&O Railroad in Akron, Ohio, and later as a private investigator for an insurance company in Monroeville.

He retired at the age of 70 years old from Zelienople borough, where he worked as an electrician.

In his free time, Jack loved to travel. He will always be remembered as a happy-go-lucky man who was everyone's friend.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved of more than 22 years, Mildred “Midge” McCormick of Zelienople; his children, Jacquie (David) Transou of Carolina Beach, N.C., Terrence (Kay) Spinelli of Plano, Texas, and Judi Spinelli of Freedom; his four grandchildren, Sarah, Jim, Carolyn and Matthew; and his four great-grandchildren, Tyler, Madison, Aaron and Logan.

In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Spinelli.

SPINELLI — The family of John A. “Jack” Spinelli, who died Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015, will welcome friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.A funeral ceremony will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. James R. Bertoti, officiating. He will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Pittsburgh.If desired, memorial donations may be made in Jack's honor to the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205, or to the VNA Inpatient Hospice, 154 Hindman Road, Butler, PA 16001.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.boylanfuneralservices.com.
