Vocalist featured in holiday concert

House tour also Saturday

The Butler County Symphony’s annual holiday concert on Saturday will feature vocalist Kate Amatuzzo.

The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Butler Intermediate High School auditorium.

Amatuzzo is a graduate of Mercyhurst College, having earned a degree in vocal performance in 2007. She was a member of the Jazz, Wind and Percussion Ensembles, serving as both pianist and percussionist.

Following her graduation, she earned a master’s in classical voice at New York University, where she received recognition for outstanding vocal achievement as a graduate student in the Steinhardt School of Music. Amatuzzo has performed in New York City with the After Dinner Opera Company.

She also has performed for seven years at the Erie Playhouse, in roles as actor, musician, vocal director and conductor. This year she served as interim musical director and has been seen in such shows as “Beauty and the Beast,” “White Christmas,” “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,” and as Marcy Park in the playhouse’s production of “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.”

The symphony’s 26th annual Holiday Tour of Homes will be earlier on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Tickets for the self-guided tour are $20 in advance and on the day of the tour at any of the homes or at Hill United Presbyterian Church, and tickets include admission into the Maridon Museum.
