Pitt pair nets ACC honors
GREENSBORO, N.C. — Clemson’s Dabo Swinney is the Atlantic Coast Conference’s coach of the year while Pittsburgh safety Jordan Whitehead is its top rookie.
The Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association announced the voting results for coach and rookie of the year.
Swinney received 27 of 50 votes for the coaching award to 21 for North Carolina’s Larry Fedora.
Whitehead was picked defensive rookie of the year, teammate Qadree Ollison, a running back, the top offensive rookie.
