Robert “Bob” William Wilson Sr.
Robert “Bob” William Wilson Sr., 74, of Vienna, Va., passed away Saturday.
He entered this world Sept. 7, 1941, in Philadelphia.
The only child of William Reynolds Wilson and Mary Margaret “Peg” Zeigler Wilson, Bob is survived by his wife, Geraldine “Gerry” Diana Exler Wilson of Vienna, Va.; their three children, Robert William Wilson Jr. of Vienna, Va., Denise Diana Wilson Covert of Longwood, Fla., and Michael Thomas Wilson of Charlotte, N.C.
During his formative years, he summered with family in Evans City and worked for his grandfather, Clarence Zeigler, in the beverage distribution business. For the winter holidays, you'd find Bob and his many cousins sledding the hills of Western Pennsylvania.
Bob grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia and there married his wife, Gerry. They moved to Fort Myers, Fla., and raised their three children.
Bob's career was diverse and included banking, construction trades, entrepreneurship with Fancy Fin Tropical Fish and commercial sales.
Bob's passions included Little League Baseball, a series of 1950s Chevrolets and the Rock and Roll music of the same era. He and the family also embraced the Girl Scouts, the Boy Scouts and Little League.
WILSON — A private visitation service for Robert “Bob” William Wilson Sr., who died Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015, will be private on Thursday at the Advent Funeral Homein Falls Church, Va., with burial at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Evans City Cemetery, Evans City.
