Jane H. Arthurs

Jane H. Arthurs, 89, of Butler passed away Monday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born Sept. 7, 1926, in Brook-ville, Pa., she was the daughter of the late William Clair and Vera (Smith) Hause.

Jane was a homemaker who previously worked for Sylvania, the Butler Eagle, Friendship Federal and Nationwide.

She was a member of the North Main Street Church of God and attended the Allison United Methodist Church while living in Carlisle, Pa.

She belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star. She also was a board member of the Music and Arts Festival, a member and historian for the Carlisle Newcomer's Club and a member of the Sewing Club. Mrs. Arthurs enjoyed golfing, arts and crafts, cooking, entertaining, traveling and antiquing.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved husband, Jack R. Arthurs, who she married June 27, 1948; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by three sisters, Margie (Bernard) Ogorchock, Betty (Richard) Main and Doreen (Curt) Main.

ARTHURS — The family of Jane H. Arthurs, who died Monday, Oct. 19, 2015, will welcome friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Boylan Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Connoquenessing Township, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.A funeral ceremony will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Gordon K. Powell officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Butler County Memorial Park.The family suggests memorial donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105, or a charity of the donor's choice.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.boylanfamilyservices.com.
