Raymond George Schmude

Raymond George Schmude, 66, of Karns City passed away Saturday at his home.

He was born May 24, 1949, in Pittsburgh, the son of the late Patsy Notaro and Marian (Schmude) Notaro.

Ray was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and anything outdoors. Ray was a lifetime member of the NRA, DAV and the American Legion.

He worked as an electrical draftsman/designer for various companies in the area.

Surviving are his wife, who he married May 28, 1982, Barbara (Cornett) Schmude of Karns City; two sons, Gordon Schmude of Butler and Brian Schmude and his girlfriend, Beth, of Ambridge; four granddaughters, Katlyn, Amber, Angela and Ariel Schmude; one great-grandson, Elijha Schmude; three step-grandchildren; two sisters, Denise (Tucker) Sciulli of Pittsburgh and Kathy (John) Zovko of Pittsburgh; and three brothers, James (Marcia) Notaro of Butler, Donnie and his late wife, Sandy, Notaro, of Pittsburgh and Gregory (Michele) Notaro of Pittsburgh.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents, George and Hester Schmude; one niece, Deseree Duffy; and a number of aunts and uncles.

SCHMUDE — Friends of Raymond George Schmude, who died Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015, will be received at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler from 2 to 8 p.m. todayThe funeral service will be at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
