Carolyn A. Boice
Carolyn A. Boice, 71, of Valencia passed away Saturday morning in West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh.
Born Sept. 16, 1944, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Magdalene Spreng Kassalen.
She was a member of St. Richard Roman Catholic Church, where she had been a Lector, helped in the Stephen Ministry and the Lamb Suppers. She also volunteered for the Wellness Pavilion Cancer Center, and loved baby-sitting her grandchildren.
Carolyn was a retired secretary for the Pine-Richland School District.
Surviving are two daughters, Beth Duchon and her husband, Roger, of Baldwin, Pa., and Sue Soltis and her husband, Craig, of Valencia; her daughter-in-law, Karen Boice of Cranberry Township; five grandchildren, Fletcher and Jackson Boice, Victoria McKernan, Taylor Duchon and Sara Soltis.
She was preceded in death by her son, Dennis A. Boice Jr., and her brother, Joseph Kassalen.
BOICE — Friends of Carolyn A. Boice, who died Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.A Mass of Christian burial will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Richard Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas Sparacino, pastor, officiating.
