Area students perform in 'Elf, the Musical Jr.'
WEXFORD — “Elf, the Musical Jr.” is being staged by the Keystone State Music Theater for two shows on Saturday.
Based on the holiday film, this comedy follows Buddy the Elf in his quest to find his true identity. The movie starred Will Ferrell, and KSMT Academy says it will be the first in the area to perform the stage adaptation.
The show features 44 students ages 7 to 18 from 11 school districts including Butler, Mars, Seneca Valley, Pine-Richland and North Allegheny.
Former Broadway performer Chris Saunders is the director and choreographer, teaming up with his wife and KSMT Academy Education Director Alison Rose Saunders.
Both have performed in the Radio City Christmas Spectacular in New York.
Curtain is at 2:30 and 7 p.m. Saturday at Marshall Middle School, 5145 Wexford Run Road.
Tickets are $14 and will be available at the door, or from KeystoneTheater.org.
