Magdalen “Madge” Hartwick

Magdalen “Madge” Hartwick, 90, of Virginia Beach, Va., formerly of Parker, Pa., (Eldorado) passed away early Tuesday morning in Virginia following an illness.

Born Sept. 2, 1925, in Pittsburgh, she was daughter of late Joseph A. and Grace Adams Zydel.

She married Raymond Hartwick on July 23, 1947, and Ray passed away Nov. 24, 2006.

In her early years she was a member of St. Phillip's Catholic Church in Crafton. She was a devout and dedicated member of Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church, and following its closing, she was just as faithful to St. Patrick's Church at Bradys Bend.

Surviving are three daughters, Carol (Tony) Walker of Virginia Beach, Linda (David) Latsch of Gates, N.C., and Jean Hartwick of Crafton; six sons: Gary of Evans City, Daniel of Hooker, Joseph of Bridgeville, Phillip of Wisconsin, Timothy of Ambridge, Pa., and Thomas of Coraopolis, all Hartwicks; two sisters, Grace Hartwick of Crafton and Dorothy Nelson of Las Vegas; 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, one brother and one sister.

HARTWICK — Friends of Magdalen “Madge” Hartwick, who died Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2015, may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at William F.
