Gertrude Louise Anderson, 80, of Sligo, formerly of Bruin, passed away early Friday morning at the Clarview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center where she had resided for many months.

Born in Parker Township on Oct. 13, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Ralph O. and Alice Morrow Edwards.

Protestant by faith, she had been a caregiver to the ill over many years.

Surviving are three sons: Paul and Kenneth Anderson of Karns City and Norman Anderson of Indiana, Pa.; 10 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The last member of a family of 10, she was preceded in death by four sisters and five brothers; and her daughter, Patty Anderson Thompson, who passed away Oct. 26, 2008.
