Fred Terwilliger Sr.

Fred Terwilliger Sr., 83, of Parker, Pa., passed away Wednesday evening at his home after a long illness.

Born July 2, 1932, in West Freedom outside of Parker, Pa., he was the son of the late Donald Tilton and Hazel I. Wilson Terwilliger.

Fred attended the former Parker High School and later joined the U.S. Army, where he was a medic in the MASH Unit during the Korean War.

He has been married for 57 years to Ruthann Virginia Connor, who survives.

Fred worked at the former Koppers Chemical in Petrolia for 35 years before retiring in 1995.

Fred was a hardworking man who loved his family and old cars. He had a passion and talent for restoring old cars as well as old tractors.

In addition to his wife, Ruthann, he his survived by one daughter, Luanna (Michael) Vojna of Freeport; three sons, Donnie Terwilliger and his fiancee, Roxanne, of Lexington N.C., Gary (Tresia) Terwilliger of Lexington, N.C., and Fred (Jenny) Terwilliger Jr. of Emlenton; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Fred also is survived by three sisters, Donna (Jim) Stoops of Franklin, Joy (Tom) Huff of Chicora and Faye (Glenn) Hindman of Harrisville.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Laura Young.

TERWILLIGER — Friends of Fred Terwilliger Sr., who died Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2015, will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home, 201 S. Wayne St., Parker.Military honors will be conducted by the Parker VFW Post 7073 and American Legion Post 598 at 6 p.m. at the funeral home, before the funeral service at 6:15 p.m.Interment will take place the following day at Mount Hope Cemetery.To send or view condolences, sympathy cards or flowers, visit buzardfuneralhome.com.
